Application procedure for Direct Employment Contracts

Direct Employment of a Sri Lankan Employers who wish to employ a domestic worker on a direct employment contract have to make an application to the Ministry of Manpower and obtain an In-Principle Approval (IPA). They also have to comply with other Ministry requirements such as Insurance, Banker’s Guarantee, etc.

Required Documents

The following Documents to be produced at the High Commission by an Employer:

  • 2 copies of Direct Employment Agreement Form (Can be downloaded from the web)
  • 2 copies of IPA letter (In Principle Approval Letter issued by Ministry of Manpower Singapore)
  • Copy of Employer’s IC and FDW Passport
Please Note

Employers are required to pay, a refundable deposit of SGD1350, disregarding the amount of salary for Domestic Workers. 

A refundable deposit will be refunded upon the termination of the contract.

The minimum wage to recruit a Sri Lankan Migrant Worker is SGD 550.

Documents submissions will only be accepted on Weekdays between 9.00am to 1.00pm.
