General Information

A Sri Lankan Citizen by descent or by registration can apply for a Sri Lankan Passport.

A passport is valid for 10 years from the date of issuance.

A new passport should be obtained on the expiry of 10 years from the date of issue, or if there are no pages for VISA endorsements.

Sri Lankan Nationals living in Singapore are eligible to apply for a passport.

Both parents and child should be present to submit the application for the new passport of the child.

Payment should be made ONLY in CASH at the counter

Required Documents

The following original documents with one set of photocopies should be submitted. Originals will be returned after due verification.

  • Original Consular Birth certificate issued by the High Commission
  • Passport of Child
  • Passports of Parents with copies of the Bio Page
  • Death Certificate in case of either Parent’s death
  • If the parents are divorced, divorce Certificate and the court order stating the right to the custody of the child/ children should be submitted.
  • If the applicant was born outside of Sri Lanka, the Citizenship Certificate
  • If the applicant is dual citizen, Dual Citizenship certificate Original and relevant Foreign Passport
  • Proof of Residence in Singapore (PR/EP/SPass, WP, Student Pass, LTVP)
Specification of Photographs
  • 3 (Three) Passport size (3.5cm x 4.5cm) colour photographs taken within 3 months and it should not be gloss or semi-gloss
  • The background and dress should not be in same colour
  • The face must be clearly visible without any makeup and other effects
  • Both ears and forehead must be clearly visible
  • The photo should show the applicant’s eyes clearly without spectacles
