As a part of Economic diplomacy initiatives, the Sri Lanka High Commission in Singapore is proactively participating in various travel fairs and trade exhibitions in Singapore encouraging more travellers to visit Sri Lanka and buyers to import from Sri Lanka. In this exercise, the High Commission participated at a travel fair jointly organized by the Dynasty Travel and OCBC bank at OCBC bank Wishma Atria branch premises on 11th, 12th, 18th and 19th March 2023.
A free booth was offered to the High Commission of Sri Lanka to showcase Sri Lankan products and to disseminate tourism information. Sri Lankan tea, spices, coconut products and kitul treacle were sold through The Ceylon Spice Co during the event providing opportunity for visitors to buy Sri Lankan products easily. The Minister (Commercial) made a presentation on Sri Lanka’s tourism industry and prominent tourism attractions and provided more insight to prospective visitors.
Further, the High Commission utilized this event to make Singaporeans aware of the quality Sri Lankan fresh produce available in the Singapore market in distributing Nelna mango to the visitors.
The Embassy appreciates the unwavering contributions and support received from the Sri Lankan community in Singapore to promote Sri Lanka during the event and make Sri Lanka’s participation in the fair a success.
The visitors who visited the fair have shown their interest to visit Sri Lanka during their next vacation as Dynasty Travel is selling Sri Lanka as one of their targeted markets in 2023.
